What people say about our mindfulness sessions...
What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness involves learning to direct our attention to our experience as it unfolds, moment by moment, with open-minded curiosity and kindness rather than judging our experiences. Rather than worrying about what has happened or might happen, mindfulness trains us to respond skilfully to whatever is happening right now, be that good or bad. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Through developing mindfulness, we learn to uncouple from unhelpful and catastrophizing thoughts and develop skills to be with and open up to this present moment. In doing so we start to relate differently to our experiences including noticing and changing unhelpful patterns as well as bringing greater awareness to notice the pleasant moments in our lives and build a sense of gratitude and appreciation.
Our mindfulness sessions are secular and inclusive. They are taught in a highly practical way, through experience rather than talk. We gradually learn to direct our attention in a more focused way to whatever is actually happening - whether it be our breathing, the sensations in our body, thoughts and feelings, sounds or everyday activities such as walking and eating.

How does 1-2-1 mindfulness work?
We will start with an introductory session, based on your experience (suitable for beginners and those with an established practice) , to learn what mindfulness is and is not and explore some mindfulness practices together. We will look at your intentions and hopes for learning or building on your mindfulness practice. You can then choose to continue with on-going 1-2-1 sessions (adapted from the evidenced based 8 session course) or choose one of our evidenced based packages tailored to your needs to explore mindfulness themes, practices and reflect on your experiences together. Each course includes mindfulness practices for you to use at home in between sessions.
Mindfulness for all
1-2-1 sessions for everyone who is curious about mindfulness whether a beginner or experienced. Exploring and building on core mindfulness practices to experience a range of different ways to be mindful and relate to our experiences with kindness rather than judging ourselves. We will explore and reflect on these practices and how they may support you in everyday life. Each session lasts an hour and you will be given practices to use in your own time, in between sessions. Amanda draws on her training and her 20 years of meditation experience to be present and to listen. She uses her skills to adapt the evidenced based curriculum to work with you where you are and at your pace.

Compassion and joy
We often think of mindfulness as being a way to manage difficulties in our life it is also a practice that encourages us to bring our attention towards the pleasant and develop acceptance, appreciation and gratitude which improves emotional well-being. Using practices to help us notice and appreciate pleasant events can increase feelings of joy. During this bespoke course we will also use compassion-based meditation practices to build on our feelings of compassion to ourselves and others. This course is available as a 4 session package. Each session is an hour long.
